Instant Shakespeare CompanyThe Instant Shakespeare Company is dedicated to the proposition that Shakespeare is for Everyone! The company organizes annual readings of ALL of Shakespeare's plays using original Folio & Quarto texts. Founded and run by Paul Sugarman, we are now in our 22nd Season of Readings of ALL of Shakespeare's plays. We have also branched out to doing readings of other writers in the Public Domain and some new plays as well. Shakespeare for Everyone! The Instant Shakespeare readings are set up to make Shakespeare accessible. The readings are usually without rehearsal, but they are on-your-feet Instant staged readings where the readers/actors move around as much as they feel comfortable. Readers are encouraged to share with their fellow readers and the audience so that the plays can exist as words and thoughts communicated through space, not just words on the page. Although most of the participants in the Instant Shakespeare readings are actors, all who wish to participate are invited to do so. Generally each reading has a Play Master(PM) responsible for casting and those who wish to participate can contact the PM. Sometimes there are still roles open at the reading and audience members can participate.
