scenes from his work, both plays and fiction. These are intended

for actors who wish to develop audition material and/or work

on less well-known projects for acting classes. They offer a wide

variety of material in multiple genres. There are 11 monologues

for women, and seven monologues for men. There are 14 scenes,

considerably longer, and some of them also provide speeches not

included in the monologue groups.

The book is really a mixture of things for young actors or more

seasoned professionals. At its best it provides new and unfamiliar

material for actors to use in their pursuit of new work.

It is also a fair glimpse into the output of an excellent dramatist

who remains relatively unknown, which is unfortunate. His

characters are rich, fulsome, and fresh.”
